Position: Facilities Maintenance Tech

World Health, Edmonton’s leading health and fitness organization, is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Tech to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Facilities Maintenance Tech is responsible for ensuring that all work pertaining to club aesthetics are complete. This position requires performing daily work assignments, proactive aesthetic improvements, and general maintenance. The main focus of the role will be on drywall and painting, although there will be a variety of other tasks required, including some electrical and plumbing.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completes repairs of all deficiencies in Facility aesthetics as outlined in Maintenance Connection and found during walkthroughs
  • Painting of the facilities
  • Completing drywall repairs, replacements and touch-ups
  • Tile work, both proactive and repairs
  • Perform some rudimentary plumbing maintenance
  • Track and ensure that the necessary tools and inventory are available
  • Identifying and rectifying any general maintenance issues (i.e. proper function of doors, checking and replacing lights, general wear-and-tear maintenance)
  • Assist with the removal and installation of equipment as required by Equipment Techs
  • Other facilities repair duties as assigned by management
  • Completing the aforementioned duties in a timely and effective manner

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Good knowledge of Facility Maintenance such as painting, drywall repairs, silicone applications, tile repairs
  • Some plumbing or electrical experience is considered an asset
  • Experience with cleaning and facility improvement
  • General Construction and/or Maintenance Knowledge
  • Excellent Communication
  • General Computer Skills
  • Attention to Detail
  • The ability to work in a team and receive instruction receptively
  • Excellent Time Management and Organization Skills
  • Must have accountability and be dependable
  • Must be ethical and have integrity
  • Ability to make decisions and use good judgment
  • Own transportation required
