Reporting to the club General Manager, the Assistant General Manager will have previous management experience and a lifelong passion for fitness. They will be responsible for the duties of the Fitness Consultant role, while training, practicing and develop the skills required to eventually move to a General Manager role.

The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for the overall success of club member experiences and for supporting the General Manager in all aspects of club leadership. Success is defined positive member experience, sales, and operations objectives; this should reflect the values, culture, and delivery standards of the World Health brand.

  • Providing leadership as part of your club’s management team, demonstrated particularly through your relationship with Fitness Consultants, acting as a role-model and mentor
  • Having the ability to build rapport with members and impart this skill upon your staff, resolving member concerns and building the standard and reputation of your club
  • Meeting and working to surpass overall club objectives
  • Responsible for weekend productivity and operational tasks on those days
  • Becoming involved with community relations and promoting your club locally
  • Hold yourself accountable for the overall performance of your club, your co-workers, and the satisfaction of your club members
  • In absence of the General Manager, review sales statistics, establish priorities for Fitness Consultants, review internal communications, and touch base with all club departments
  • Maintain all responsibilities as defined in the Fitness Consultant role

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A Minimum of 1-2 years working in a fitness or hospitality management role
  • Strong knowledge of company policies, practices and procedures
  • Management experience in a retail or comparable environment is an asset
  • Definitive and efficient decision making abilities
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • The proven ability to excel in direct sales roles
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in growing and developing new business while retaining current clients
